Parade Volunteers We’re looking for people to help with parade logistics. If you’d like to support the stewarding of the parade, keeping people moving and making sure things are on time, please get in touch at playingoutcanley@gmail.com

The theme of the parade: Proud as a Peacock

What things in Canley are you proud of? What makes it a special place to live, work and play? Wear it on your sleeve in this year’s parade, because as the motto goes, We Can in Canley!

There might be Canley places you’re proud of, clubs you are proud to be part of. You might be proud of yourself and the things you wear. What special clothes or fabrics do you wear to a big occasion? We would love you to put on your Sunday Best and join us!

We’re also thinking about birds in this year’s theme, birds move, and birds work together – just like Canley folk. Who has come to Canley and who has made it their home? Who makes you proud to be in Canley?

The peacock has been a recurring theme, so we’re working in blues, greens and purples as our colour theme.

You can make things to take to the parade this year at our Playing Out Workshops, with our team of amazing artists.

The Parade Route

The Parade starts at Canley Community Church on Charter Ave where everyone will line up.

We’ll join up with the larger items at the top of Glebe Close, turn right onto Kele Road which then becomes Thomas Sharp Street, we then turn left Mitchell Avenue, cross over to Wendiburgh Street, turn left onto John Rous Avenue, right onto Mayors Croft and then left onto Sheriff Avenue, we cross Templars Field, then cross over to Prior Deram Walk, ending at Prior Deram Park

The Parade starts at 11.00am and we anticipate that it will end at Prior Deram Park for 12.30pm. To ensure everyone’s safety, we will need to close roads along the route for a period of up to 15 minutes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but hopefully residents will come and enjoy the parade.
