Our 2023 programme gives Canley people all kinds of creative experiences and all free!
We are leading workshops at Canley Community Centre, St Stephens Church and Canley Library. We are also working in three Canley schools: Charter Academy, Cannon Park and Westwood Academy and leading sessions at Willowbrook Residential Village and Bonneville Place.
See the News section or our Facebook page for up to date information about when and where they are taking place.

About the artists and workshops:
Music: Dave has been leading Coventry Samba Band since 2021, teaching Canley people of all ages infectious and joyous Brazilian Carnival rhythms. You may have also heard him DJ on BBC CWR .
Movement: Frankie is a movement practitioner and is passionate about using movement to articulate feeling and tell stories. She also directed the City of Culture’s Closing Ceremony.
Poetry & spoken word: Navkiran is a Coventry based writer and poet. She wants to challenge the idea that people can’t write poetry and her workshops create a space where anything is possible. Navkiran wrote the narrative for the Foleshill Parade.
Visual Arts: Niall is interested in alternative routes into art and wants to remove barriers to engaging in the arts. He is currently teaching himself and others, collage and print making.
Visual Arts: Jane is a politically driven artist working with textiles and mixed media. She works with collaborators to make protest banners and other textile works to challenge social injustice and make change.
Alongside our artists, we are also pleased to be working with Dr Ruth Cherrington, a cultural studies researcher and academic – and Canley Girl! She is meeting local people to identify Canley stories and moments that can inform the story of Canley Parade and beyond.
